Festival Poster Design

For this in-class exercise, we were prompted to design a poster and tickets for a festival of our choice. I chose one of my favorites—Batfest, a festival in my hometown of Austin, Texas that celebrates the return of native bats to Congress Bridge during the summer season. I wanted to capture the off-kilter, unserious nature of local Austin culture and thought, what better way to do so than parodying one of the most straight-laced self-serious movie posters of all time?
